Tanzania Odyssey is a well established, luxury travel company providing tailor-made Tanzania Safaris and Tanzania Honeymoons to clients across the globe.

As early adopters of the Internet, they have always seen the value of online marketing.

Digital Potion have been working with them for many years advising on search optimisation and digital strategy, achieving Tanzania Odyssey’s dominating online presence through natural search. As a result they enjoy the number one slot on their related search queries for Google and the other search engines and have been very successful because of it. Approximately 80% of their business starts initially as an online related search.

Objectives

Because of our work together on search optimisation our relationship has never been stronger, and as a result Digital Potion started working with Tanzania Odyssey on their social strategy, advising on how they can take full advantage of this amazing marketing resource.

The plan was to generate a lasting presence on Facebook through a corporate Fan Page and to simultaneously grow their reach through a Facebook competition, using the latest Facebook Connect technology.

Results

The strategy has directly increased word-of-mouth sales and increased the overall awareness of the Tanzania Odyssey brand, reaching far beyond the website and email marketing that was their main marketing activity.

The competition is very cost effective and extremely successful. It has opened Tanzania Odyssey up to a brand new marketing direction and provided them with a new suite of tools for targetted a new audience.

They continue to use and benefit from social media as an integral part of their overall marketing strategy.

Africa Odyssey

Tanzania Odyssey have recently launched their new site Africa Odyssey which provides luxury Africa Safaris and African Honeymoons. They make tailor-made arrangements to the rest of Safari Africa and beach extensions to the islands of the Indian Ocean
